2019 Jerome Reserve Pinot noir Magnum

This 2019 Jerome Reserve Pinot noir is a collection of the best 10 barrels of the vintage.  This version of our premium Pinot noir product is a blend of fruit from vineyards in all three of the AVAs that we farm adding even more depth to the finished wine.  It is a compilation of high elevation Dijon clones from Dundee Hills and Chehalem Mountains, which contribute red fruit and elegance and lower elevation Wadenswil and Pommard clones from Yamhill-Carlton, which contribute richness, spice and earth.  The wine exudes black cherry raspberry and Italian plum fruit along with cocoa powder, black tea, allspice and forest floor undertones.  It shows amazing balance that leads into a long and juicy finish.  This is definitely a bottle worthy of long term cellaring.

“Meyer Vineyard makes up the majority of the fruit for this wine (60%), with the rest equal parts Stermer and Chestnut Hill. Aged 16 months in French oak (50% new), the aromas pull you into the glass, with notes of crushed flower, fresh tea leaves, herb, and plum. Palate coating, layered flavors follow, showing intensity and richness but also freshness. Black tea notes linger on the finish. There’s much to enjoy, both now and in the future. Best after 2025.”

Savoury fresh herbs accent the aromas of sweet ripe raspberry, fresh mint and clove. The palate is fleshy and fresh, balancing elegance with depth. Black tea, balsamic and red and blue fruits combine with savoury umami notes and fresh herbs. Complexity and richness speak to excellent longevity for this very pretty Pinot Noir. Delicious”
