2019 Meyer Vineyard Pinot noir Magnum
94 points
$145.00
The Meyer Vineyard is a long, steep site in the Dundee Hills that faces due south and features a variety of elevations, exposures, and microclimates.
The 2019 Meyer is composed of fruit picked at the very beginning of harvest to produce fresh, aromatic wine that combines black cherry and raspberry tart with rose petal, potpourri, and graham cracker. The palate is fresh and juicy, with savory spice carried by loads of red fruit to a long, delicately balanced finish. This is a young wine that will gain in weight over the next year and age gracefully for 10+ years.
Reviews from Acclaimed Wine Critics
94 Points – Clive Pursehouse, Decanter
“These high-elevation Pinot vines grow in a former nut and fruit orchard perched high in the Dundee Hills. The Meyer Vineyard Pinot bottling from Lemelson is balanced between beautifully concentrated red fruit and brilliant minerality—aromas of fresh mint, dried autumn leaves and red berry fruits. The palate is silken and delicate; it offers sappy blackberry and black tea flavours, hints of thyme, and a distinct umami character that lingers at the finish. This is a contemplative Pinot Noir that displays real beauty and balance.”
94 Points – James Suckling
“Aromas of blueberries and cherries with crushed rosemary, ground cloves, cocoa and some savory notes. Medium- to full-bodied and structured, yet fresh and crunchy with chalky tannins and a polished, blue-fruited mid-palate. Holds tight and long on the palate with hints of violets and stones to close. Try from 2026.”
92 Points – Tim Fish, Wine Spectator
“Sleek and vibrant, with delicately layered cherry and guava flavors accented by green tea and savory spices. Ends on a lovely, lively tart note. Drink now through 2029.”
91 Points – Sean Sullivan, NW Wine Report
“Fruit for this wine is a mixture of Dijon clones 777 and 114. Aged 15 months in French oak (50% new), brooding aromas of cola, cherry, and spice lead to medium-bodied cranberry and cherry flavors. Much of this wines remains locked away. Give it time in bottle to emerge or a long decant. Best after 2025.”
