2022 Threemile Vineyard Syrah

With a fairly robust history of making fuller bodied reds (other than Pinot noir), I thought it was time to play with something outside of our wheelhouse.  After the April frost scare, I knew this was the year to get it done and after a long search, we found Threemile Vineyard in the Columbia Valley of Oregon.  I was immediately drawn to their Syrah, a variety I love, and the rest is history.  This premier vintage of 2022 Syrah did not disappoint.  It is rich, inky even, with beautiful blueberry cobbler, dried currants and black cherry fruit coupled with notes of leather, roasted meat, pepper and botanical herbs.  It is wonderfully rich, not too fruity and not too savory – everything we love in Syrah!
